Replacing Your Kitchen Cabinet Hardware
The most inexpensive way to spruce up your kitchen cabinets is to replace the hardware.

By spending just $100 to $400 dollars, you can completely change the look of your cabinets. To make a dramatic change, replace out dated knobs and pulls with more modern options. Or if you do not want to change the style, opt for a different metal color. Either way you are sure to be pleasantly surprised by the change. When you have chosen your new hardware it is important to know where to place each piece.
Drawers are simple because the knobs or pulls are simply centered on the front panel. However, it is a bit more work to figure out where the hardware should be placed on a cabinet. Depending on the height of your upper cabinets, you will want to put the hardware anywhere from 2 to 4 inches from the bottom of the cabinet and about ½ inch from the side opposite from the hinge.
The measurements should then be the same on the bottom cabinets. For example, if you have the knobs 2 ½ inches from bottom of the top cabinets, have the bottom cabinet knobs 2 ½ inches from the top. This will make everything like uniform and more aesthetically pleasing. If you are still unsure of how to proceed, remember you can always ask a professional for a few tips. In fact, it is relatively inexpensive to higher someone to do it for you if you do not have the spare time. Either way, new hardware is guaranteed to give your kitchen a new updated look.
